Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about ITIPS Re-Tipping Service.
Most re-tipping appointments take between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the number, length, and condition of the extensions. We inspect, wash, and apply keratin bonds efficiently, and will give a precise time estimate when you drop off or book your extensions.
Yes - if the strands and tips are still in reasonable condition we can re-tip and reinforce bonds. Severely damaged or missing tips may not be salvageable; we'll assess each set and recommend repair, partial re-tipping, or replacement based on longevity and safety.
When performed by trained professionals, re-tipping poses minimal risk to natural hair because we work only on the extension tips. Proper removal, installation, and regular maintenance are crucial; we always inspect attachment quality to protect your scalp and natural strands.
Frequency depends on wear and lifestyle, but most clients need re-tipping or refreshes every 6 to 10 weeks. If you wear extensions daily or use lots of heat, earlier maintenance may be advisable. We'll suggest a personalized schedule during evaluation.
Bring clean, dry extensions in a labeled bag and detangle them beforehand. Avoid heavy styling products or oils on tips. If you've recently colored the hair, tell us; we'll assess condition and advise whether additional treatments are required before re-tipping.
Re-tipping targets the tips and uses gentle washing; it should not alter color or overall texture. Minor softness from washing is normal. If color matching or chemical treatment is desired, discuss options - those are separate services and may affect tone or feel.
